with Dave Letorey

Interview

Dave Letorey: What do you do, for a job or hobby?

Dave Letorey: In my day job I work for a company that builds huge websites, for Councils, Universities, etc.

DL: What  have you started doing since lockdown that you didn't do before?

DL: I've gone from training face to face to totally digitally. I've started running online pub quizzes, every Tuesday at 7:30pm (GMT) on quiz.theisolationstation.com.

DL: What piece of advice can you give others in lockdown?

DL: Keep yourself occupied, learn something new. I've been learning how to live stream, which is not as easy as you'd think.

DL: Tell me about the song from when you were 18 years old.

DL: So I discovered this song on the Tube, a channel 4 music show Friday's at 6pm. It was hosted by Jules Holland, who got into trouble for swearing on an advert for the show at 17:45 on a Friday. I saw this lady perform the next day I borrowed £5 off my mum to buy the LP and the song wasn't even on the album. The song is Left of Center by Suzanne Vega.

DL: Tell me about the song from when you were a child that you still listen to.

DL: When I was about 11 years Old Bob Marley died, well shot. My dad had a Bob Marley record, I love my dad and think about him all the time. So I've chosen Is this Love by Bob Marley.

DL: Tell me about the act/artist you've discovered in the past 12 months.

DL: Keep yourself occupied, learn something new. I've been learning how to live stream, which is not as easy as you'd think.

DL: Out of the 10 tracks in your playlist, which 1 track do you really hope people listen too and why?

DL: So Susan used to be the music booker for a channel 4 music show called Transmission and one of the series they had bands collaborate on a track. The track I have chosen is Ant Music by The Charlatans and The Dirty Pretty Things, the rehearsal happened on my 39th birthday.

DL: Can you recommend a book that you love but you think others have not read.

DL: The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde, it's about this literary detective that goes inside Jane Eyre to stop someone spoiling the plot.

DL: What are you looking forward to doing most when lockdown is over?

DL: Going to see live music and festivals, with my friends
